One such example is Khosie Dali, an innovative film Producer based in Cape Town, whose work is making waves in the film industry. Through her company, Miss K Productions, Khosie has turned her production studio into a center for filmmakers of diverse backgrounds, fostering unique storytelling and voices.
Specializing in commercials, music videos, and narrative fiction, Miss K Productions is known for creating engaging content that promotes diversity. Khosie’s commitment to quality and inclusivity shines through in all her work.
Khosie has had a successful career with notable fellowships such as Global Media Maker and Rotterdam Lab. Her well-received feature film, Sons of the Sea, was awarded Best South African Film at the 2024 Durban International Film Festival (DFM) and premiered at CineQuest in Los Angeles, highlighting South Africa’s rich storytelling heritage. She also accepted an award on behalf of the talented team behind the Best South African Short Film, The Wait, which was developed and supported by the NFVF and Interfilm Berlin International Short Film Festival.
In 2024, she is once again organizing the second Qhakaza Producer’s Workshop program, which is proving to be highly successful, targeting aspiring production staff from South Africa. The positive feedback from participants in the previous year was impressive, with many of them making significant progress in the industry.
