After studying film and television with a focus on cinematography and directing, Phumlani worked his way up in the industry, starting as a 2nd AC, then 1st AC, and camera operator, before eventually becoming a Director of Photography. His journey has been shaped by the lessons learned from the many people he has encountered along the way, instilling in him a strong work ethic, and a deep respect for others and his craft.
Phumlani’s diverse portfolio includes commercials, documentaries, drama series, short films, and feature films. Throughout his career, he has embraced challenges, learning from his mistakes and failures to reach where he is today.
