Kholeka “Koko” Khoza, born in Empangeni, KZN, pursued her passion for storytelling despite initial resistance. She studied film at City Varsity, gaining on-set experience before joining the MultiChoice Talent Factory, where she worked on The Queen, Miss SA 2019, and more. Her Mzansi Magic film Ngeculo became the highest-rated, drawing 1 million viewers.
Koko advanced from AD to director on Legacy and has since worked on Kings of Joburg S3, Giyani, and more. Through her company, Handwritten Stories, she aims to tell bold African narratives, calling herself “a fool with a few stories."
